Held from 10:00 to 10:45 during the meditation service. All ages of children are welcome.
We start class with a
brief meditation (5-7 min depending on the ages). I use techniques
specially geared for kids.
Afterwards, we do an
art project related to a Buddhist concept. e.g creating a mandala or
drawing pictures of the
Buddha. A Buddhist story is read to them while the kids
are doing the project.
We open and close
class with a brief Buddhist ritual by saying and bowing Namu Amida
Butsu (I take refuge in the wisdom and compassion of Amida Buddha) 3
times.
